How JobConnect AI Works
Every score, signal, and statistic on this platform has a real definition. This page explains exactly how we calculate them β no black boxes.
How We Calculate Match Score
Each job listing is given a Match Score from 0 to 100 relative to your candidate profile. The score reflects how well the role fits you β not just on title, but across five weighted dimensions:
Match Scores are computed using OpenAI language models that analyze both the job description and your profile in full context β not just keyword matching. A score of 80+ indicates a strong fit. Scores below 50 are surfaced only when no better matches are available for your search.
How We Detect Cross-Border Eligibility
Not every "remote" job is truly open to international candidates. Our Remote-Friendly Detector reads each job description and flags roles that include restrictive language that disqualifies cross-border applicants.
We scan for four categories of restriction:
Jobs that pass all four checks are labeled Cross-Border Eligible. Jobs with partial restrictions are labeled Restricted with an explanation. This classification is a signal, not a legal guarantee β always verify eligibility directly with the employer.
Cross-Border Score β How It's Calculated
Every job on JobConnect AI receives a Cross-Border Score based on keyword signals found in the job description and title. The score is computed instantly, with zero AI calls, using four weighted signal groups:
The employer names an EOR or PEO provider, indicating they can legally employ people in countries other than their own.
"We hire via Deel in 50+ countries"
The listing explicitly offers to sponsor visas or support work permits, strongly indicating cross-border willingness.
"We sponsor H-1B and EU work permits"
The role is explicitly async-first or imposes minimal time-zone overlap, making it accessible across regions.
"Async-first culture, 2h overlap required"
The employer signals an established practice of hiring across borders via team composition or explicit statements.
"Our 200-person team spans 40 countries"
70+ pts β High Confidence Cross-Border
The listing explicitly mentions an EOR provider or visa support alongside international hiring language. Very likely open to candidates outside the employer's home country.
40β69 pts β Cross-Border Friendly
The listing shows meaningful flexibility signals (async culture, global team, timezone openness) but lacks formal EOR or visa language. Apply with confidence but confirm terms directly.
0β39 pts β Not flagged
Insufficient signals detected. The role may still be international-friendly β verify directly with the employer.
Scores are additive β a job that mentions an EOR provider and has an async-first culture scores 40 pts (medium). Each signal group contributes at most once regardless of how many matching keywords appear. The score feeds the β / β» badge on every job card.
Our Job Database
JobConnect AI aggregates listings from four verified job data sources:
The database is refreshed every 6 hours. Duplicate listings (same role, same company, sourced from multiple providers) are removed automatically using title + company + description fingerprinting. Expired listings are removed within 24 hours of the source removing them.
Our Numbers β What They Actually Mean
We surface three headline stats across the platform. Here is exactly how each one is defined:
The number of live jobs in our database that match at least one active candidate profile on any given day. This is not the total number of jobs in the database β it is the subset that generated at least one match above our minimum relevance threshold. The number is recalculated every 6 hours alongside the job refresh.
The number of distinct countries represented in registered candidate profiles. This reflects where our users are based β not the number of countries where jobs are available (which is broader).
The number of languages in which the JobConnect AI interface and content are fully translated: English, French, Spanish, Haitian Creole, German, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, and Arabic. Job listings themselves are not translated β they appear in the language posted by the employer.
